I got some new clothes this week (thank you Sister for sending them to me from USA!)
And can I tell you something?
That the trying on of new clothes, seeing the sizes and how I look has been triggering for me in the past (and sometimes still is).
Learning to love my body has been SUCH a journey! (In fact, have I shared with you the Exposed post I did in 2009?)
Having lost and gained over 100lbs twice has not only been physically transformative — but it’s also been the same for me emotionally.
Here’s the thing, and I want to tell you something really really important.
…You are WORTHY, LOVEABLE, DIVINE…no matter what weight, size or shape you are.
The journey hasn’t been easy. There are still days when I can find myself slipping down ‘the rabbit hole’ of negative self-talk…
It’s then that I ask myself ‘what is is that you need?’
Often it’s gratitude.
I’m grateful for a body that has carried me.
Nurtured me when I’ve abused it.
Helped me travel throughout my trip to Africa.
Birthed a baby.
Given me more energy that I could ask for as I’ve built my business.
Gratitude is a powerful elixir against body: hate, shame, disconnection, deprivation.
