ABOUT DOTERRA & ESSENTIAL OILS
Have you been wondering
what essential oils are?
what essential oils are?
Why they have become so mainstream and popular?
Most importantly, essential oils are so much more than beautiful scents! They have a long, rich history that spans several millennia and many of their original uses are still in practice today. Their resurgence is part of a global awareness of natural, toxin-free health solutions.
What Are doTERRA Essential Oils?
Essential oils are the natural aromatic compounds extracted through distillation from plants’ stems, petals, leaves, roots or rind. They can be a single oil, such as lemon or made up into beautiful therapeutic blends. Each one has a very different effect on the mind and the body.
I’m passionate about doTERRA’s essential oils because I have witnessed firsthand the impact their oils have on moods and holistic wellbeing. A study at La Salle University found that floral scents are a significant mood manipulator in comparison to no smell and even when compared to some other scents. In a nutshell, a floral aroma made participants feel happy and more social. For those interested in learning more about the latest scientific research with doTERRA please head to their Science Blog
Due to their diversity they can be used both aromatically and topically in wide variety. In the stance of doTERRA’s essential oils, some can be used internally. doTERRA has set the standard for incredibly powerful, ethically sourced and indigenously grown essential oils.
Why do I love doTERRA?
doTERRA is the world’s largest essential oils company and I fell in love with not only the intensity of the oils, but the commitment to purity and service. doTERRA started in 2008 by a group of committed executives to bring the highest quality and locally sourced oils that the earth had seen. Further they were committed to creating a business that anyone could succeed in.
doTERRA’s Heart of Service
It’s not just about a great product though. I was so pleased to learn that doTERRA supports humanitarian efforts around the world. These include a partnership with Mentors International to help entrepreneurs in developing countries, a partnership with CHOICE Humanitarian which works to rebuild earthquake-affected Nepal, a worthy project called Days for Girls, and many more. You can read about these on the doTERRA website under the ‘Our Caring’ tab.
