I have spent over 2.5 years building my business from the ground.up. Grassroots entrepreneur, as I like to call myself. I had blogged starting in 2008, but had left it behind in 2010. Dabbled with other blogs, but never got anything off the ground.
But I knew, when I started doTERRA, that I had to utilise social media to my full advantage. Facebook is used by billions of people all over the world, and most people get on their account every day, so this is the PERFECT place to grow your audience and build your brand. I know because I’ve done it myself! The last three years have been a whirlwind and I want to help you be successful on Facebook too.
Here are my Top 5 Tips on How to Use Facebook in Network Marketing.
I have also included a social media e-package offering as well!
Tip One: Create and Post Authentic Content
To me, this is my number one tip. You have to be authentic! I can’t stress that enough.
You need to be you, and forget about comparing yourself to other business owners out there. Especially others who might appear to be more successful. Your audience will build a relationship with you, which then leads into brand awareness, brand trust and brand connection.
When it comes to creating or sharing content, make sure you stick to the same authenticity.
- Are you sharing something you truly believe in?
- Are you sharing how you use a product you love?
- Are you creating inspiring ideas that will really help someone out there?
- Are you showing your authentic journey?
If so, then share away. If not, rethink the content. If you feel uncomfortable, then it’s a sign that maybe it doesn’t suit you and your brand.
Tip Two: Use Clean & Crisp Graphics
Don’t get scared away by this. You definitely DO NOT have to be a graphic designer to make gorgeous images. There are easy-to-use programs that do the hard work for you.
I like to use Canva. It’s all dragging and dropping and doesn’t get too much more complicated than that. You can either create your own design or use one of Canva’s and just modify it a bit. Canva also have some great training videos as well to get you up and going with making graphics.
My tip though is to ALWAYS put your logo or name on all of your photos. If they start to go viral, then everyone is doing free advertising for you.
If it’s photos you’re after, you can get a whole stack of good-quality, free ones from sites like Pixabay and Pexels. This will save you a lot of time rather than taking your own photos (although you should still take some of your own. It’ll make you more authentic).
Tip Three: Engage Your Audience
People follow you and like your posts because they want to engage with you. It’s that simple.
Make it a two-way conversation and instead of continually dishing out information, why not ask about their opinions and experiences? Not only will this naturally make them feel closer to you and feel welcome to connect with you more, but they might give you good ideas about what they want as well.
Don’t be shy – just put it out there and you might be pleasantly surprised with what the universe responds with.
Tip Four: Provide Quality Information
When you combine this with authentic content, you’re onto a good thing.
People will quickly lose interest if you’re not giving them high-quality information they can actually use.
- Are you sharing the best recipes?
- Are you giving them new ideas for doTERRA oils or Tupperware or Avon products, for example.
- Are you providing new insights into your services?
- Are you continually posting how-tos?
- Most importantly, are you always respecting them beyond being a ‘like’ on your page?
A good starting point is to think back to when you were first learning about your product or service and what you wanted to know the most.
Tip Five: Be Consistent & Post Regularly
You want your posts to be seen often. The way to do this is… to post often! I put something on my business between 1-3 times per day.
It takes time to build an audience. It really does. But being consistent and following the above tips will help you!
It can be hard in the beginning but it will get better. Be creative and be open. See what works and what doesn’t and learn by your own mistakes (this is a good thing, so don’t be afraid of making a wrong move).
